Tennis star's brilliant gesture for ball girl in distress

Dennis Shapovalov showed all his class when he accidentally struck a ball girl in the face with a ferocious first serve that left her in pain.

The big serving Canadian was trailing his opponent Jan-Lennard Struff after losing the first two sets when a big first serve hit a ball girl in the face.

The ball girl was in distress when Struff immediately checked on her before waving at Shapovalov to come over.

In a touching gesture, the Canadian came over and apologised to the girl who was forced to leave the area to take a break.

But the Canadian followed the ball girl and again checked if she was ok before going back to serve.

The crowd appreciated the gesture and applauded the ball girl and the tennis stars.

Struff went on to comfortably defeat the 20th seed 7-6 (7-1), 6-3, 6-4 to move onto the second round.
