Controversial star Dayana Yastremska has caused uproar after a number of divisive incidents during her match at the Southern & Western Open.

Yastremska has made headlines for all the wrong reasons over the last year after clearing her name in a doping incident, before causing uproar when she travelled to the Australian Open while on a provisional ban.

Now, the Ukrainian has infuriated the crowd after taking a medical time out (MTO) in a vital moment in her second round Cincinnati clash against home favourite Caty McNally.

Yastremska took the first set 7-6, before she took a MTO at 2-5 down in the second.

The MTO clearly disrupted her opponent's rhythm as Yastremska stormed back and took the second to win 7-6, 7-6.

However, the fans were clearly infuriated with Yastremska after the controversial timing of the MTO.

The fans vociferously cheered on McNally before the American fell short in a thrilling final set.

However, Yastremska took exception to the crowd and after match point gestured for them to keep cheering.

She then walked past her opponent at the net and refused a handshake.

Fans claimed it appeared McNally called Yastremska a "b***h" after she was snubbed.

Yastremska turned around after reaching her seat to quickly shake McNally's hand.

Fans slam Dayana Yastremska after unprofessional antics

Yastremska, who is a divisive character on the tour, couldn't escape the wrath of viewers.

Fans let rip at the Ukrainian for her string of 'unprofessional' antics following a divisive MTO.

Yastremska went on to lose her next round match Barbor Krejcikova 6-1, 7-6 in the Round of 32.
