Nick Kyrgios has opened up about his split with fellow tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, saying the pair simply parted ways.

Kalinskaya confirmed last week that the couple had broken up, declaring they were no longer friends.

“We broke up. We aren’t friends,” Kalinskaya told fans online.

“I understand you are his friends and it’s cool but I’m not going to talk about him. Have some respect for me as well please.”

Kalinskaya’s comments seemed to suggest some bad blood with Kyrgios as a result of the split.

She also posted a number of Instagram posts that appeared to take aim at Kyrgios, featuring the captions “f***ing energy vampire” and “you’re not a bad boy, you’re simply a bad person”.

However according to Kyrgios there’s no ill-will.

“What happened to Kalinskaya? Nothing happened,” he told fans during an online stream of Fortnite on Thursday.

“We just went our separate ways.

“Unfortunately things didn't work out. We had some fun memories.”

In a very risque chat with fans on Twitch, Kyrgios delved deeper into his love life when asked if he’d ever slept with a fan.

“Yes,” the Aussie said. “In all seriousness if I'm not seeing someone it's like a weekly thing.

“Eastern Europeans just have my heart on the get-go.

“Tall Eastern Europeans I'm just like 'take half my earnings’.”

Kyrgios was famously playing Roger Federer at the Laver Cup in 2018 when he spotted an attractive woman in the crowd.

“I was slicing up Fedz and was like 'damn',” Kyrgios recalled. “I wanted to take her out for a drink.”

Kalinskaya backtracks on Kyrgios comments

Earlier this week Kalinskaya denied her comments were about Kyrgios and said he’s a ‘good person’.

She told Confidential: “He did nothing. He is a good person and I didn't mean to comment about him.”

“I don't know why people think it’s about him. He is a great player and nice person.”

In March the Daily Mail published pictures of Kyrgios and Kalinskaya hanging out in Acapulco after the Aussie retired hurt at the Mexican Open with a wrist injury.

The photos showed Kyrgios planting a kiss on Kalinskaya’s forehead as they ate tacos together.

Kalinskaya had featured heavily on Kyrgios’ Instagram story over the last few months, including a photo of the pair at an NBA game.

Rumours started swirling last September when Kyrgios shared a photo of himself with Kalinskaya, writing: “My face when I see you doing your thing today.”

He was also spotted cheering her on from the stands at the Citi Open in Washington last August.
