However, the moment that stole the show was Bublik's inexplainable handle shot mid-rally in the second set.

At 4-0 down, Bublik has game point when a forehand forced Ruud to sky a return.

But instead of putting the ball away, Bublik bizarrely switched his racquet around and pushed the ball back using his handle.

The move caught Ruud off guard as he skied another return, before Bublik finished the point off with a smash.

Fortunately, both players shared a laugh at the net over the point.

Tennis fans were left absolutely enthralled and bewildered with Bublik's tactics.

The move even earned the attention of Aussie star Nick Kyrgios.

Bublik wasn't the only star sharing a laugh in the warm Miami weather.

Kyrgios was serving at 2-3 against Fabio Fognini when a fan called for an underarm serve.

The Aussie obliged, but the serve ended up being a fault.

But in good humour, both Kyrgios and Fognini seemed to see the funny side with the Italian appearing to say "don't do it again" with a smirk.

Kyrgios went on to win the match and will play Jannik Sinner in the Round of 16.
