'Lovely moment': Rafa Nadal fan in tears after Indian Wells act

Rafa Nadal has made one kids day at Indian Wells after spending time with some fans after his training session.

Nadal has enjoyed an undefeated start to 2022 after capturing The Melbourne Summer Set, Australian Open and Mexican Open titles.

His best ever start to a season has seen him win 20 sets in a row and he will be looking to carry his form into Indian Wells, which he has won on three occasions.

And it is no surprise that fans were clambering to get a glimpse of the 21-time grand slam champion practice during his time in California.

His time at Indian Wells has seen him train with Andrey Rublev and compatriot Carlos Alcatraz.

And after one of his training sessions, in front of a packed crowd, Nadal spent time signing a number of autographs for the adoring crowd.

Nadal reached one young fan that put his branded white hat in front of him and yelled "Rafa".

The Spaniard smiled back and asked: "How are you?" before signing the hat.

And in a lovely moment the young girl retreated back to her mother before bursting out in tears, clearly overwhelmed meeting an idol of hers.

Fans were quick to praise the lovely moment, which is what makes Nadal such a fan favourite all around the world.

β€œI have been here for more than a week,” Nadal said at the press conference.

β€œI always enjoy it here. It is one of my favourite tournaments without a doubt. I take it day by day, just trying to enjoy the moment. It is unexpected for me to be in this position, so I am enjoying it every day and trying to enjoy the fact I am playing well.

"I have already won three titles this year and that is amazing for me.”

Nadal has spent time practicing with other opponents during his time at Indian Wells.

His first match will be against either Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis or American Sebastian Korda.
