Super League player suspended for ugly squirrel grip

Castleford forward Kevin Larroyer has joined the rare list of rugby league players banned for the unsavoury squirrel-grip tackle.

Larroyer, who was sent to the sin bin after the incident, will miss the next two Super League games for the disgraceful act on Catalans Dragons player Vincent Duport.

The Frenchman took an early guilty plea after being charged with 'other contrary behaviour'.

Duport stayed down after the tackle, rolling over from his stomach to his back as he dealt with the pain.

Larroyer earned the same sanction handed down to South Sydney's English forward Sam Burgess in 2013.

The Rabbitohs captain was charged with contrary conduct after his squirrel grip on Melbourne Storm centre Will Chambers.
