According to reports, the custom-made footwear set Beckham back a staggering US$200,000 (AUD$279,000), making them the most expensive ever to be worn by someone in Super Bowl history.

Beckham's cleats featured yellow gold and almost 1500 round white diamonds on the Nike swoosh sign.

They were a collaboration between the player and legendary custom footwear designer Dominic Ciambrone, who provided details about the conception of the cleats before the game.

"It's not about making the most expensive cleat," Ciambrone, 35, told PEOPLE.

"Odell's not only a top player, but he's a big personality and he likes fashion and he likes to stand out and that's what I like. So it just kind of all came together."

The $279,000 cleats feature 1,494 individual round, brilliant white diamonds with a total weight of 25 carats from sought after jeweller, Jason of Beverly Hills.

Jason of Beverly Hills CEO Jason Arasheben, who previously created the Tampa Bay Buccaneer's Super Bowl ring, said it was a pleasure to work with Beckham on this new project.

"He knows what he wants and together we've had the pleasure of making some crazy pieces," Jason of Beverly Hills CEEO Jason Arasheben said.

"The Rams are the second team to play the Super Bowl at their home stadium. Being a part of the Buccaneer's win last year, it felt fitting to work on this piece with Odell and Dominic."

Odell Beckham Jr. grabs first TD in Super Bowl

Beckham was the most popular bet for first touchdown of the Super Bowl and the Rams star obliged in the first quarter against the Begals.

Less than 10 minutes into the game, there were a lot of happy punters as Beckham Jr. crossed the end zone to give Los Angeles an early lead.

Beckham hit the first touchdown prop, scoring on a 17-yard pass from Matthew Stafford with 6:22 left in the first quarter.

The 29-year-old was 10-to-1 odds at BetMGM to score the first touchdown of the Super Bowl.

First touchdown scorer is usually the most popular prop for the Super Bowl. And Beckham was the most popular pick leading up to the Super Bowl, followed by Cooper Kupp.

Beckham's first catch of the game was the first score of Super Bowl LVI, and one punter who placed US $10,000 on Beckham won $100,000.

Los Angeles punted to start the game and then the Bengals threw incomplete on fourth down at midfield.

However, the Rams wide receiver sent a scare through fans after going down in the second quarter with an apparent left knee injury.

Beckham has been a key player for the Rams since they signed him, following his release from the Cleveland Browns.

Punters took note of Beckham's impact. And the ones who had him scoring first had a nice ticket to cash before the first quarter was even done.
