Smith floored by brutal low blow in second ODI
New Zealand have finally worked out Steve Smith's weakness, dropping the Aussie skipper with an awful low blow during the second one-dayer in Canberra.
Smith was 56 off 64 balls at Manuka Oval on Tuesday when an attempted pull shot backfired and the ball hit him straight in the nether regions.
SCORECARD: Australia v New Zealand, second ODI
The captain immediately hit the deck while he regained his composure, with deputy David Warner showing absolutely no sympathy.
Smith was able to continue after a short breather and remarkably smashed a six the very next ball he faced.
It may have done the trick for the Kiwis however as he was dismissed not long after for 72.
The knock continued Smith's incredible form with the bat but New Zealand were thanking their lucky stars it wasn't a repeat of the first ODI where he peeled off a record-breaking 164.
