'Absolutely not fair': Maroons legend savages Brad Fittler for David Klemmer decision

Queensland legend Corey Parker has called out New South Wales for showing a lack of “loyalty” in failing to recall David Klemmer for Game Three of State of Origin.

Klemmer put in a huge performance for the Knights against the Broncos on the weekend, which many thought would mean an automatic recall to the Blues outfit after he missed Game Two with a wrist injury.

But Fittler surprisingly opted not to recall the forward with reports suggesting he will only join the squad if Tariq Sims is suspended and is unavailable for selection.

The decision to leave out Klemmer, who was arguably NSW’s best forward in the Game One loss, did not sit well with Parker.

Parker famously shared some heated words with the NSW enforcer in the 2015 series, but slammed the Blues’ lack of loyalty to a player who wears the jersey with passion.

“I am not usually one to rant, but here I go!” Parker posted on Twitter after the team announcement.

“I bleed MAROON but I like to think I’m also pretty fair in regards to my opinion. I CANNOT believe that NSW have over looked a player who in my option nearly single-handedly won the game in game 1.

“Not to mention playing with a broken wrist in which he did for his beloved state, and continued to make a difference.

“For him to display that sort of toughness and passion and then to pull apart the Broncos in a [sic] early return, to not be picked is absolutely not fare! [sic] Loyalty is to those that deserve it. Wow!!!!!”

The Blues named an unchanged lineup to the team that smashed Queensland 38-6 in Perth.
