Star hockey player under fire over risque injury reveal

A Russian ice hockey player has caused a stir with the extremely racy way she revealed an injury.

HC Spartak Moscow star Yulia Ushakova took to social media recently to let fans know she’d suffered an ankle injury in her latest match.

She posted a photo lying on a treatment table with her ankle bandaged, but not much else was covered.

Despite the fact she was barely dressed, Ushakova and her team both posted the risque snap on social media.

“Trauma to the lower body of our leading (player) Julia Ushakova,” Spartak Moscow’s tweet read.

“(The team) placed the attacker on the list of traumatised.”

Ushakova shared the image with her Instagram followers.

“I twisted my ankle, two broken nails,” she wrote.

“My wrist will be corrected, and when I go for the manicure, the problem will be solved. I started the week badly.

“I will solve the ‘women’s problems’ in terms of the degree of significance, first I’ll remove the wrinkles, then to the manicure. And the ankle itself will pass.

“Let’s see how cosmetics works. To all, a cool and positive start to the week!”

The image has been retweeted around 3000 times, but not everyone is happy.

Barca Women, an unofficial football account, replied: “This is how Spartak Moscow announced an ankle injury to attacker, Julia Ushakova”, clearly not impressed.

One other user said: “This is so wrong (considering the current challenges), and I mainly blame her.”

The 28-year-old provided another update a few days later, saying she didn’t expect to miss too much time.

“The ankle has recovered, everything in order,” Ushakova said.

“Start working with the group and prepare the next matches at home.”
