SpaceX rocket launches into space over Orlando City-Montreal match

Fans watching CF Montreal's 4-2 win over Orlando City at Exploria Stadium got a unique view of the historic Space X launch on Wednesday night.

Space X successfully launched the Inspiration4 from the Kennedy Space Center, which made it the first-ever orbital flight crewed only by tourists.

Though the space center sits roughly an hour away from Exploria Stadium on Florida’s Atlantic coast, the rocket could be clearly seen during the game from the field — which made for an incredible sight during the first half.

SpaceX launch makes history with all-tourist crew

SpaceX, the company founded by Elon Musk, launched the all-civilian spaceflight on Wednesday night.

The crew will orbit the planet for three days higher than the International Space Station before returning to Earth on Saturday, according to The New York Times

The trip is the first commercial venture into space without any professional astronauts, which makes it a huge step for the future of space travel. Billionaire Jarred Isaacman, physician assistant Hayley Arceneaux, community college professor Sian Proctor and data engineer Christopher Sembroski have been training for the mission since March.

Though the game carried on normally, the sight in Orlando on Wednesday was certainly one to behold.
