Snooker world left stunned by 'impossible' shot
Snooker fans and commentators have been left stunned by what many are calling the most impossible shot they’ve ever seen.
During Keryn Wilson’s match against Mike Dunn at the UK Championships on Sunday, Dunn found himself in a very unenviable position.
Trailing 28-40 in the sixth frame, Dunn was trying to hit the final red ball on the table, but it was positioned in an impossible spot behind the pink and brown.
The cue ball was also in a shocking spot right up against the brown, leaving Dunn hopelessly snookered.
For four whole minutes Dunn weighed up how on earth he was going to make the shot, with the referee just as stunned as the players at one stage.
In very rare scenes, Dunn fouled on three-straight attempts to make the shot, which would normally result in the immediate loss of the frame.
But in a sporting gesture, Wilson allowed play to continue because of just how difficult the shot was.
Wilson went on to win the frame anyway, taking the match 6-2.
“It’s an impossible snooker,” one commentator said, suggesting he’d never seen a more difficult shot in pro snooker.
And fans were in agreaance:
