Simone Biles captured in eye-opening moment with teammate after historic feat at Olympics

The greatest gymnast ever left viewers stunned only moments after winning gold at the Olympics.

Simone Biles has left the sporting world in shock after winning gold and becoming the most decorated gymnast in Olympics history and the American had fans swooning following a post-gold moment with her teammate. Biles was simply outstanding for the USA in the women's team finals inside a raucous Bercy Arena on Tuesday night.

The American gymnast was the standout as the USA posted an unbeatable score of 171.296, which was well clear of Italy and Brazil. Biles' gold in the team event has only further cemented her legacy as the greatest gymnast of all time and one of the greatest Olympians of all time.

Biles returned from her setback at the Tokyo Games - where she battled the 'twisties' - to defy her critics and cement her legacy as an Olympics legend. The 27-year-old's relaxed manner appears to have played a huge role in her success this time around having returned to the biggest stage with a relaxed attitude. And her conversation with Suni Lee only moments after winning gold with her USA teammates has left fans swooning.

Having just won gold, Biles was seen smiling and talking to USA teammate Lee about the Tik Tok video they were going to produce for their fans. And the videos have already exploded online.

Biles has an enormous following on social media due to her popularity around the world. Biles has 8.7 million followers on Instagram and 2.4 million on Tik Tok. Modern day athletes use social media to connect and engage with their fans and Biles is no different. Lee and Biles were thrilled with their gold medal in the team event and were already preparing their celebrations for their followers, while others would have been overwhelmed with emotion.

And fans couldn't get enough of the joy Biles was exuding after the win. Biles posted one video on her account, which had already compiled nearly 13 million views hours after posting. Lee's video also went off on social media. Biles has captivated the Olympics with her epic comeback and the joy she showed after winning gold left viewers praising her aura.

Biles' eight Olympic medals moved her past Shannon Miller for the most by an American gymnast. The USA looked liked they were going to surge to gold after Jordan Chiles started the event by stunning viewers with her double-twisting Yurchenko vault. And the USA team never looked back.

Biles had a heavily taped left calf after slightly injuring herself during qualifying. However, it did not impact her at all with gymnastics icon taking to the floor for the final event and winning her fifth Olympic gold medal.

The USA have now won three gold medals for the team event in their last four Olympic Games. "After I finished vault I was relieved - I was like 'woo, there's no flashbacks'," Biles said. "I did feel a lot of relief and as soon as I landed I knew that we were going to do this."

Biles cut a cool figure after landing her vault in the first round, which saw her celebrate with teammates Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera. The team all nailed their routines to hand the USA gold.
