Shock details emerge in bitter Williams family feud
The health of Serena and Venus Williams’ father has reportedly deteriorated to the extent he’s barely able to speak.
Richard Williams, who coached Serena and Venus as young girls and is regarded as a key influence in their storied careers, has apparently suffered a series of strokes in the past two years that have left him ‘severely disabled’.
The heartbreaking news has been laid bare in a bitter court battle between Richard, 76, and ex-wife Lakeisha, 38.
Williams has filed court documents in Florida alleging that Lakeisha has unlawfully taken over his home.
Williams has accused his ex-wife of taking advantage of his diminished health and forging his signature on mortgage documents.
Court papers obtained by The Daily Mail reportedly show examples of Williams’ signature in 2002 and 2017.
“His lawyers say if he did sign the documents his ‘mental capacity was compromised’ from the strokes and he did not understand what he was signing,” according to the Mail report.
Richard and Lakeisha filed for divorce in 2017 after a seven-year marriage.
They have a six-year-old son, Dylan, together.
Williams’ health was known to be bad, but the court documents reveal just how bad it is.
He apparently now relies on his son, Chavoita LeSane, to act as his translator.
“Williams also suffers from a neurological condition which affects his mouth and means he can only speak through his son 45-year-old Chavoita LeSane, who has now been given power of attorney,” the Mail states.
LeSane’s Instagram account features a number of recent photos with his father, who looks a shadow of the man he was just a few years ago.

Richard was a regular in Serena and Venus’ courtside boxes until recently, cheering on the girls he helped mould into superstars.
