Warne's parents and children have been left absolutely devastated by the tragedy, opening up on their grief in a family statement on Monday night.

While ex-wife Simone shared a one-line excerpt from a poem in the statement, she opened up further on social media on Tuesday.

Callahan posted a number of photos and videos of Warne with children Jackson, Summer and Brooke when they were younger.

"Shane’s greatest Love, Our children Brooke, Jackson & Summer," she wrote alongside the never-before-seen photos.

"Shane was taken too soon from their young lives. Eternal love remains & will never leave. Vale Shane."

Many commented that the photos show just how happy Warne was when spending time with his children and serve as a brutal reminder that he's been taken way too soon.

Liz Hurley reaches out to Shane Warne's children

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Warne's former fiancee Liz Hurley reached out to his children in a touching social media move.

Hurley commented on a post from Warne's youngest daughter Summer, who also shared a number of photos and videos online.

“There is no words. It feels like I‘m dreaming, waiting for someone to wake me up and tell me that you’re okay,” Summer wrote.

“This can’t be real life. There’s no way that life is this cruel to the most beautiful people on this earth.

“I’d do anything to hear that laugh again, anything to hear your voice, anything to have one of your cuddles, anything to be with you again just one last time.

“I took our time for granted dad and I would do anything to have more time with you on this earth. Our time was robbed and I wish you would come back to me.

“You may not be alive dad, but you will forever live inside my heart, I will cherish the memories till my time is up on this earth and I am reunited with you again. I love you dad.”

Hurley, who was engaged to Warne in 2013 and was very close to his children, commented: “I love you, Summer. Your daddy worshipped you.”

Summer replied: “Love u so much.”

Hurley also commented on a post from Warne's son Jackson’s, writing: “I love you, Jackson” with a heart emoji.

Hurley took to social media on Saturday to pay her own tribute to Warne.

“I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever. RIP my beloved Lionheart,” the 56-year-old wrote.
