Several Missing After Deadly Floods Hit Waverly, Tennessee

Several people were reported missing by local authorities on August 24 after deadly flooding hit the town of Waverly, Tennessee, on August 21 leaving at least 21 dead.

The flooding was brought about by record rainfall in the area, with an estimated 17 inches of rain falling at nearby McEwen. The rainfall broke the 24-hour record for the state, according to the National Weather Service.
