See the moment Caitlin Clark broke the single-season WNBA assist record with a heads-up Kelsey Mitchell pass
Caitlin Clark broke the WNBA record for most assists in a single season Friday evening.
The moment she rewrote history was strangely anticlimactic for the rookie hooper (if I'm honest) but definitely in line with things Caitlin does really well. During the second quarter, as the Fever transitioned up the floor, Caitlin scanned the court, spotting a wide-open Kelsey Mitchell, who was calling for the ball.
She quickly passed the ball to Mitchell in a heads-up move, who sank a big 3-point basket. (It's fitting that Caitlin made a pass to Kelsey for the single-season WNBA rookie assist record and the single-season league record.) Here's the moment during the Indiana Fever's matchup with the Las Vegas Aces when Caitlin surpassed Alyssa Thomas' record (316) set just last season.
