Sedona Prince allegations: Why TCU star was not selected in the 2025 WNBA Draft

When the 2025 WNBA Draft ended Monday, one very notable name was still available. Sedona Prince — one of the stars who led TCU to the Elite Eight in March — went undrafted despite excellent college numbers.
Prince, 24, averaged 18.1 points and 9.5 rebounds in two seasons after transferring to TCU. She entered Monday's draft as a possible first-round pick, but was not selected during the three-round event.
While Prince's stats suggest she has what it takes to play at the next level, off-the-court allegations of sexual and physical abuse may have played into why WNBA general managers passed on the TCU center.
What are the allegations against Sedona Prince?
At least four women — including Prince's partners and ex-girlfriends — accused Prince of sexual or physical abuse between 2019 and 2025. The allegations — which include both physical and sexual assault — were detailed by the Washington Post in February.
The first allegation against Prince occurred in 2019. Prince — then a freshman at Texas — was accused of using her fingers to penetrate another woman without consent. After a date, Prince allegedly locked the woman in a car and penetrated her. The woman recalled Prince saying, "I didn't take you out for nothing."
Another woman came forward about an incident in 2022, in which she claimed she was forced to penetrate Prince. The woman said she rebuffed multiple advances from Prince before Prince grabbed the woman's hand and forced penetration. The woman sued Prince in 2024, alleging sexual misconduct. The suit was later dismissed by Prince's accuser.
A third woman accused Prince of physical and emotional abuse during a 2024 trip to Tulum, Mexico. The woman claimed Prince punched her in the chest and pushed her up against a wall. The woman also said she was pushed off an ATV by an intoxicated Prince, who then drove away.
In January, Prince was accused of domestic violence by an ex-girlfriend. The two women were reportedly involved in an altercation. Both sustained injuries, but there was not enough evidence to charge either woman. Prince and the woman each filed domestic violence claims against each other following the altercation.
Did Sedona Prince face punishment from TCU or the NCAA?
Prince has not faced punishment from the NCAA or TCU for the alleged assaults. TCU confirmed to the Washington Post in February it was aware of "allegations involving one of our student-athletes and is looking into the matter.” Four days after the alleged January altercation, Prince played 40 minutes in a loss to Oklahoma State, per the Washington Post.
Prince denied all allegations of sexual and physical abuse. Following the third accusation, Prince posted a video on TikTok in which she claimed she "never abused anybody in my life. That's not who I am, that's not what I do, that's not what I stand for."
Why did Sedona Prince go undrafted in the 2025 WNBA Draft?
Allegations of sexual and physical assault likely played a major role in Prince not being selected in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Given her height — Prince is 6-foot-7 — and production, Prince was considered a strong prospect and a possible first-round talent.
In the lead-up to the draft, WNBA general managers spoke anonymously to ESPN about Prince's draft prospects. While some claimed Prince was completely off their board, others seemed more open to selecting Prince. But when it was time to publicly make that move, those general managers decided against it.
Concern over fan reaction may have played a role in that decision. A Change.org petition urging TCU to remove Prince from the team received over 200,000 signatures. The WNBA team that drafted Prince could have been subject to similar outcry from fans.
On the court, the main criticism against Prince's game was her age. Prince — who will be 25 in May — was much older than some of the players she faced. At least one WNBA general manager said that made it tough to evaluate Prince's performance. Prince had also dealt with multiple injuries over her seven years in college.
Prince could attempt to catch on with a WNBA team as a free agent after going undrafted Monday. If that's not an option, Prince can look to play internationally to try to get back on the WNBA radar.
