Danny Cipriani blackmailed after getting stripper pregnant

A stripper who begged Danny Cipriani for money after falling pregnant to him has pleaded guilty to blackmail.

The former England flyhalf's sexual relationship with 39-year-old Lisa Murphy ended when she told him she was pregnant with his child, according to The Sun.

Murphy reportedly asked Cipriani for $8000 to pay for loss of earnings from her work as a stripper after the abortion and a cancer scare that followed.

Cipriani, 29, refused to pay Murphy out and eventually went to the police when he found out that Murphy and her friend Violet Smith were attempting to sell the story to The Sun newspaper.

Between July and November 2015 the pair exchanged a series of WhatsApp messages.

Upon hearing that Murphy was pregnant, Cipriani wrote: "Wow babe. That’s a shock to me too.”

The Kingston Crown Court heard that Cipriani offered to pay for the cost of termination, before Murphy said it would be free.

By September, however, Murphy started to ask for money for loss of earnings she would have made working as a stripper at Junction Nine; she had been off work for five months after the pregnancy.

"Is there any way you can help me as I’m self-employed and not being paid?" she wrote in a message.

"Don’t expect me to pay for your salary, that’s quite different," Cipriana replied.

Murphy and her friend Smith were eventually arrested on suspicion of blackmail when Cipriani's agent went to police in November 2015.

They pleaded guilty yesterday before going on trial, as the judge offered them a suspended jail sentence.
