Bolt remains on track for his miraculous triple three-peat with just the 4x100m relay left to make it nine gold medals and a legacy that will never dull at the Olympics.

It is hard to argue now that he is the greatest track and field athlete of all time.

Bolt won the race in a time of 19.78s, exactly the same time as his semi-final.

He did it so easily, leading the pack out of the bend, extending his lead in the straight and coasting home.

Canadian Andre De Grasse finished in second in 20.02s and Christophe Lemaitre filled out the places.

They tried but they couldn't come near him.

Bolt had qualified fastest for the 200m final in one of the most enduring moments of the Rio Games.

He crossed the line, pushed by De Grasse, the pair sharing a joke from 20m out.
