Dutch cyclist crashes out in embarrassing fashion

A Dutch cyclist has suffered an embarrassing crash in the Men's Team Pursuit Qualifying at the Rio Olympics.

The trio from the Netherlands were attempting to move into medal contention Joost van der Berg rocketed up the velodrome track and crashed out.

He was attempting to overtake his teammate, a move he would have completed thousands of time before, when he inexplicably went down.

Commentators thought he might have clipped wheels, but it looked as though the pressure of the Olympics caused the simple error.
