A Rare Michael Jordan Autographed Card and a Slew of Sports Treasures Have Hit the Auction Block
Sure, you often see Michael Jordan’s game-worn jerseys and sneakers on the auction block. But his trading cards are just as coveted—and now you can add one to your collection.
A 1997 SP Authentic Sign of the Times card signed by His Airness is now up for grabs via Lelands. You can snag the incredibly rare memento at the house’s 2025 Winter Classic Auction, along with other sports-related treasures—including Jordan’s 1981 love letter to his then-girlfriend—through March 15.

The Upper Deck SP Authentic #MJ Michael Jordan Sign of the Times Stars & Rookies Autograph card shows off Jordan’s form as he takes a shot, donning a black Chicago Bulls jersey. It’s graded PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) NM 7 Auto 10, with only one known copy graded higher. Rarely offered with this bold of an autograph, the collector’s item is first iteration to hit public auction since 2021. Currently, the top bid sits at a cool $125,078.
Another headliner for the Winter Classic auction is a complete 1948 Leaf Baseball set. Ranking fourth on PSA’s current set registry, the collection is one of the most sought-after vintage sets, according to Lelands. It’s easy to see why, since the offering includes cards from MLB stars such as Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, and Ted Williams. The trove has a current bid of $60,819.
The Lelands auction is also offering a memento from Jordan’s time off the court. A 1981 two-page handwritten love letter to Laquetta Robinson, his girlfriend at the time, near the end of his senior year at Laney High School in Wilmington, N.C. The romantic letter, which is in excellent condition, makes it clear who (or what) has the No. 1 spot in his heart: “Laquetta you are my whole life next to basketball. Please don’t get mad about that statement. You are my whole life. But you can’t have basketball,” it reads.
Other auction highlights include signed baseballs from Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, and more MLB icons. You could also snag Willie Mays’s bat from the 1957 All-Star Game; a baseball signed by the 1932 World Champion Yankees team; and a 1962 ticket stub from Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game.
Jordan’s sports memorabilia has a penchant for making a pretty penny at auction. His NBA Finals-worn kicks hammered down for a record $8 million at auction in 2024, and a one-of-one 2003 Jordan Logoman patch card hammered down for $2.9 million, making it the most expensive card from His Airness ever sold at auction. We’ll have to wait and see if the 1997 number can put up a figure that impressive.
