Rafael Nadal blows up after secret wedding plans leaked

Rafael Nadal is fuming after his secret engagement to long-time girlfriend Xisca Perello was revealed in the press.

For years fans have been wondering why Nadal hasn’t popped the question after the 14-year relationship.

But according to Hello! Magazine, Nadal and Perello got engaged back in May, but they’ve been keeping it a secret.

They are said to be tying the knot this autumn in Mallorca.

The news was a shock to many fans, but also to Nadal, who is angry that the details were leaked.

Speaking to a reporter for Spanish publication ‘Diario De Mallorca’, Nadal revealed how he was bothered by the way the news came out.

“I’m not going to tell anything, it has bothered me a lot,” the World No.2 said.

“I never report any of this, I’m not going to do it now.

“You want to ask me about the wedding, right? I understand that you do your job, but I will not say anything.”

‘I have the intention of forming a family’

Nadal, 32, has previously spoken of his desire to settle down and start a family with Xisca.

“Obviously, I have the intention of forming a family. I love children and I would like my children to do what they like,” he said.

Xisca, 30, who works at Nadal’s foundation, was in Australia last week watching her fiance at the Australian Open.

She’s previously spoken about why she doesn’t always feel the need to be with him at every event.

“He needs his space when he is competing and just the idea of me hanging around and waiting on his needs all day tires me out,” she said.

“It would asphyxiate me. And then he would have to be worrying about me.

“If I followed him everywhere I think there’s a risk we might stop getting along.”
