Brilliant mare Winx resumes in Apollo

The Group One conquering mare Winx had an incredible last preparation. Winning the Group One Epsom at Randwick, and turning it's attention south of the border to claim one of the most prized possession of Australian racing - The Cox Plate.

Lindsay Park trainer Tom Dabernig who will have imported galloper Dibayani stepping out in the Apollo acknowledges there is an aura of invincibility surrounding Winx.

"You are always intrigued to see how they come back and how they race first-up in shorter trips but she just looks quite exceptional on her wins." Dabernig said.

If there is to be an upset it may be that the great mare is first-up. Winx has an incredible turn-of-foot and will be winding up late but will it be enough?. Is there a better horse in the field? time will tell.
