In One Fell Swoop
Fell Swoop won the Testa Rossa Stakes at Caulfield on September 19th and is looking for a fifth straight win. Defeating the likes of capable runners Charlie Boy, Java and The Bowler, Fell Swoop has already won three at listed level, bringing his record to nine wins from eleven career starts.
Fell Swoop will line-up in the listed City Tattersalls Club Lightning over 1100 metres. Jockey Jay Ford, who will take the mount, had glowing comments about the horse.
"I would probably say, outside of Takeover Target, this [Fell Swoop] is probably the next best horse out of the Canberra region I've been able to sit on," he said.
Canberra trainer Matthew Dale has resisted any urge to push Fell Swoop into group-level racing this preparation.
It will be a stern test for Fell Swoop this Saturday and there is no doubt that whilst he might not be a "Takeover Target" at this stage, he is ticking all the right boxes.
