“To help Brisbane fans get to Melbourne next weekend, Qantas has added five flights between Brisbane and Melbourne,” he said.

“Tickets are on sale now and as always, the cheapest seats will sell out first so we are encouraging fans to book as soon as they can.

“This is on top of the 10 flights Qantas Group added yesterday (Friday) to help Sydney fans get to Melbourne to support their team.”

The airline will add more than 2,100 seats on top of what is currently available for anyone hoping to get to the grand final.

Fares will be starting from $419 each way.

One additional flight to Melbourne has been added for Friday, September 27, while another two will be made available on Saturday, September 28.

Meanwhile, two return flights to Brisbane departing Melbourne have been added for Sunday, September 29.

It’s understood Qantas and Jetstar will continue to monitor demand and may add additional flights early next week.

Travellers are being urged to allow for extra travel time, as footy finals fall in the middle of school holidays.

One of the busiest day to fly this month is Friday, 27 September.
