Tottenham's Harry Kane has cemented his reputation as one of the finest strikers on the planet, with an extraordinary performance in Spurs' victory against Crystal Palace.

The England ace grabbed two goals and two assists in the 4-1 home win against Palace that reignited the top four hopes of Jose Mourinho's men.

Gareth Bale continued his impressive run of form by grabbing two goals of his own, with Christian Benteke's header proving a mere consolation for the visitors.

However, it was a moment of magic from Kane early in the second half that lit up social media.

Bale had already grabbed his side's second goal to reestablish a 2-1 lead after Benteke's equaliser, when Kane rocketed Spurs further ahead with a 'goal of the season' contender.

Welsh wizard Bale was again at the heart of Tottenham's attack as his ball found Matt Doherty on the edge of the Palace box.

The defender played a ball back to Kane on the edge of the area, which the striker curled into the top corner from 20-yards out.

The astonishing strike left goalkeeper Vicente Guaita with absolutely no chance, leaving fans in a frenzy on social media.

Spurs duo combine for historic feat

Kane netted again from Son Heung-min's pass in the 77th minute as the pair set an extraordinary Premier League record.

It was the 14th goal Kane and Son had been directly involved in this term, beating the previous record set by Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton for Blackburn in the 1994-95 season.

Tottenham's third successive league win lifted them above Liverpool and West Ham with 45 points from 27 games, two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea who play Everton on Tuesday.

Palace's first defeat in four games left them in 13th place with 34 points from 28 games, eight points above third-from-bottom Fulham.
