Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' first half during the 2025 Super Bowl was nearly as bad as the week Senator Tommy Tuberville endured.

The Alabama senator was caught lying about his relationship to Mahomes, telling Megyn Kelly he began Mahomes' recruitment process while head coach at Texas Tech and extolling the QB's character. Barely 24 hours later, Mahomes was telling reporters that he had never met the senator, nor did Tuberville — who abandoned the Red Raiders for Cincinnati two years before Mahomes enrolled — ever recruit the future Hall of Famer.

Once the Chiefs went into halftime down 24-0, with Mahomes completing six of 14 pass attempts with two interceptions (and a wild pick-six), many fans began wondering if Tuberville actually did coach Mahomes.

You know, since Tuberville ended his career with three straight bowl losses and a 4-8 record in his final season with the Bearcats.
