Not all Aussies enjoyed their time in Bangalore. Aussie World Cup winner Glenn Maxwell opted to step out of the starting XI after a number of poor games with the bat. "After the first few games hadnāt gone to plan personally for me, it was a pretty easy decision,ā Maxwell said. āI went to (RCB captain Faf du Plessis) and the coaches last game and said it was time to probably try someone else.
"I have been in this situation before in the past, where you can keep playing and dig yourself into a hole. Now is actually the best time to give myself a mental and physical break." Maxwell said he would put himself forward for selection again when he gets āinto a solid mental and physical spaceā. He added: āThe management here has been outstanding. Weāve been working together on taking a fair bit of ownership and the off-field leadership staff is trying to help out as much as they can. Unfortunately, runs just havenāt come the way they should have when you are in really good form."
