Keeper suffers horrific knee injury in freak mishap
WARNING: The following article contains graphic images and video that some may find disturbing.
Argentine goalkeeper Oscar Ustari has suffered one of the most gruesome injuries in recent memory.
The Club Atlas keeper was left writhing in agony after a seemingly innocuous incident resulted in a sickening injury during a game in Mexico.
Ustari had just made a save and was clearing the ball downfield when he immediately hit the ground and began shouting in panic.
The referee was forced to stop the game and call for immediate medical attention as Ustari sobbed on the pitch.
As you can see in the video above, Ustari's kneecap was left horribly displaced as he sat on the pitch.
Replays showed the moment the tendon snapped as he planted his left leg in preparation to kick with his right.
Ustari was taken from the field on a buggy with his face resting in his gloves, and rushed to hospital.
It certainly has been a crazy 24 hours in the football world, with Marseille star Patrice Evra sent off BEFORE his side's Europa League clash after kicking HIS OWN fan in the face.
Everton defender Cuco Martina was also rushed to hospital after landing awkwardly in a scary incident against Lyon.
Unfortunately it's not the only freak injury we've seen in recent times.
