Orlando Pirates linked with Sibiya and Bilankulu from Golden Arrows
Following a disappointing 2016/2017 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign, Orlando Pirates have been on a mission to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
The Buccaneers have already roped in Wayne Sandilands, Thamsanqa Sangweni and Nigerian striker Christian Obiozor in an effort to rejuvenate coach Kjell Jonevret’s squad.
However, according to the latest reports, Pirates are not done yet as they are reportedly eyeing Golden Arrows duo of Musa Bilankulu and Nduduzo Sibiya.
Reports suggest that the Bucs management has already made contact with Abafana Besthende regarding the availability of the two players, but Arrows are so far reluctant to sell.
“Arrows think it will be a setback if they let them go because they feel both players still have a huge role to play at the club. Sibiya is a youngster who stills needs to be moulded, while Bilankulu’s experience helps guide the youngsters in the team,” a source close to Arrows told Phakaaathi.
Meanwhile, interest in Bilankulu is surprising considering that the former Bidvest Wits defender is 32 years old this year, but the source maintains that Pirates are on the lookout for an experience campaigner to marshal the defence.
“Bilankulu has been in the game for many years. The team needs someone like him at the back,” the source concluded.
