In opposition of Gregg Popovich, Bobby Knight sings Donald Trump’s praises

In his latest of a long list of anti-Donald Trump rants, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich called the president’s conduct "embarrassing” and “dangerous," implying Trump puts himself ahead of the country. Another legendary basketball coach offered a view in direct opposition of Coach Pop’s.

During an appearance this weekend on Fox News, former Indiana coach Bobby Knight said, “We have a president who’s very tough, very smart, and he loves America and he loves American people, and he wants to do everything he can to help America become as strong and as tough as we have been in the past.”

Claiming to be non-partisan, Knight continued, ‘Let’s forget about politics for just a minute. When I first introduced Mr. Trump – he asked me to introduce him (at a campaign rally) in Indiana, which I was happy to do – I said there were two things that I didn’t care about … : No. 1, I don’t give a damn about the Democrats, and No. 2, I don’t give a damn about the Republicans. But I really care about America.”

Knight added, “We require a President of the United States who loves this country … To hell with the Democrats and to hell with the Republicans. Dammit, let’s do what’s best for America.”
