Ons Jabeur in sad scenes on court after tough loss in Abu Dhabi quarter-final
Fans couldn't believe the scenes as the Tunisian was left in tears on court.
Tennis fans have watched on with sadness after World No.6 Ons Jabeur was left in tears on court during her quarter-final loss to Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia. Jabeur has struggled to start the year after a tough loss to Mirrra Andreeva in the Australian Open second round.
Fans were left shellshocked when Jabuer lost in convincing style to the teenager to exit at Melbourne Park. Jabeur bounced back and managed to defeat British sensation Emma Raducanu in her first game since the grand slam.

However, tennis fans once again watched on as Jabeur struggled to finish the match against Haddad Maia as she broke down in tears during the second set. Supporters in the crowd cheered for Jabeur, but the trailblazing Tunisian had to wipe away tears before returning a serve.
The scenes left tennis fans in shock with her opponent Haddad Maia sharing praise for the World No.6 after the match. "I have really good memories from the last match. I have had a few matches against her. Ons, as everybody knows, she is a very nice person and a very important player for women's tennis," Haddad Maia said in her post-match interview.
"She represents us very well, so first of all I respect her a lot because of that. As I said yesterday, when you have big tournaments against big players it's a privilege." Fans were worried for Jabeur with the Tunisian struggling with injuries in recent months. There was no confirmation to why Jabeur was upset, but fans rallied around the Tunisian star after the match.

Ons Jabeur's baby admission ahead of Aus Open
Ahead of the Australian Open this year, Jabeur made the heartbreaking admission she put so much pressure on herself to win the Wimbledon final in 2022 having been determined to try for a child if she was successful. Jabeur came so close to lifting her maiden grand slam title in 2022 when she fell to Marketa Vondrousova in the final.
And in a documentary on her career called 'This is me', ahead of the Australian Open, Jabeur made the tough admission she was planning on having a baby with her husband after the tournament if she was to come away with her career goal to lift a grand slam.
Unfortunately, Jabeur said the plan to have a baby with her husband was also then put on hold due to the heartbreaking loss. "People think I have this pressure because I want to do it for other people, which is not true," she said on the Tod documentary.
"There was a personal thing going on there. I win that Wimbledon final, I could have a baby right away. And that dream faded. I was haunted by fear. After all I'm just a human being, what can I do more?
"It was the toughest loss of my career because emotionally it destroyed me, not only winning Wimbledon, but the idea of having a baby just vanished with the trophy of Wimbledon."
