One sneaky player prop trend to watch for

Jen Ryan of CBS Sportsline and Fantasy Football Diehards joins Fantasy Football Live's Liz Loza to discuss how injuries are framing player props at the betting windows.

Video transcript

LIZ LOZA: We're looking at player props and, obviously, noting that this year, 2020, is a year unlike any other. Has there been a particular trend that you've noticed at the sports book that you've been able to capitalize within this year, in particular?

JEN RYAN: There is, within this year, in particular. I do think that the book is over-- they're over-correcting for injury a little bit. And it's something I pounce on.

Really good example-- Kenny Golladay. When he came back from injury in week six, his receiving line was just below 75 yards. And you look at that and you're, like, a healthy Kenny Golladay, he's got 100-yard upside, right? And of course, he went over 100 yards that game.

Following week, the book still didn't correct it. They still kept him right around that 75 yards. And of course, he went over for a hundred again.

Same thing for Nick Chubb. He comes back from missing all those weeks off of injury, and I think they had his rushing line right around 70. Fast forward, he's got three straight with 100 yards, and the book still has yet to offer his rushing yardage, like, over 85 yards.

It seems like the book is a little bit more wary of injury than I am. And my whole take is, especially with these studs, they're not rolling them out they're if they're not 100%.

LIZ LOZA: Well, and that's the whole "fortune favors the bold" aspect of playing the game. And you're not afraid to do it.

JEN RYAN: Right. Right. And, like, the one thing I'll say is, when it comes to these player props, I like to have an anchor bet. And I'm super bummed, because I can no longer parlay Will Fuller to score a touchdown with Carson Wentz to throw an interception every single week. That prop has hit every week, except for two weeks.
