Former NRL player Todd Carney has shown off his engagement to ex-Married at First Sight star Susie Bradley, following a New Year’s Eve gender reveal.

Carney, 34, kicked a football that burst into a cloud of blue smoke, revealing he and Bradley’s first child together will be a boy.

Then came the next surprise - the former Raiders, Roosters and Sharks star reaching into his picket for a ring and getting down on one knee.

“I got something else exciting too. Since it’s going to be a little boy, it’s only fitting we all have the same name. Will you marry me?” he asked.

A clearly stunned and excited Bradley said yes, making it a New Year to celebrate for the pair.

Carney wrote that he couldn’t wait to celebrate getting married to his ‘best friend’.

“We all have dreams and in 2020 all mine have come true,” he captioned the Instagram post.

“In 2021 my greatest gift is going to happen with a little Todd on the way and I’ll marry my best friend.”

Carney and Bradley have been dating since roughly March 2019, after Bradley’s turn on the Channel Nine reality show.

The pair have endured some ups and downs, notably breaking up at one stage before getting back together in December, 2019.

Bradley took to Instagram to defend the couple from critics after they reunited.

“Pretty sure it’s been no secret that Todd has effed up in the past,” Bradley wrote.

“I’ve also made quite a few disastrous mistakes.

“But guess what? We own them and we’ve worked through them, and that’s up to us, so go us, we’ve come out the other side of it.

“Please keep your f***ing opinions to yourselves. If you can’t respect my relationship, go away, please, otherwise I’ll just block you, and that’s so time-consuming.”
