Thaiday reveals who he's going to smash in adorable interview with daughter
Sam Thaiday has uploaded a hilarious pre-match interview between himself and his adorable daughter Gracie.
Ahead of his side's all-Queensland clash with the Gold Coast Titans tonight, Gracie asked her big dad who he's going to smash in the big game.
"Probably I'm going to go and try and smash my mate Jarrod Wallace... he plays for the Titans and that's who we're playing tonight." Thaiday said.
"Some of them are nice, some of them want to beat us so they're not nice."
Gracie was clearly shocked that her dad wanted to smash one of his mates.
"Don't smash your friends!" She responds.
Thaiday explained that he conducted the interview with his daughter in order to add some normality to his pre-game routine.
"I'm a sucker for game day routine, so since I couldn't talk to the boys at @nova1069... this morning, Gracie thought she'd help me out in sticking to my routine by doing an interview with me," he wrote on Instagram.
"Love her to the moon and back."
Even without Thaiday aiming to smash them, the injury-ravaged Gold Coast face an uphill battle at Suncorp tonight.
They return to the site of their controversial 2016 NRL elimination final loss where they are hoping to get the rub of the green.
The Titans don't have happy memories of the Broncos from their last trip up the M1, which resulted in a contentious 44-28 loss and hinged on two crucial decisions that went against Neil Henry side.
A Jarryd Hayne pass for a try which would have reduced the Broncos' lead to six points was called forward and Konrad Hurrell's try-saving attempt to kick the ball from Jordan Kahu's grasp was overturned by the video referee.
Co-captain Ryan James said it took some time for the team to get the result out of their system but the squad has moved on.
"There's probably not too many of us who were in that side last year," James said.
"That's definitely in the past now."
Henry was incensed by the calls at the time and is hoping his injury-hit side can right the wrongs from the last visit to Brisbane.
"When you go back and look at the game it was really disappointing to get those crucial decisions wrong," he said.
"We've just got to get on and deal with what happens. If we can get a 50-50 decision or the rub of the green that will do us."
