Blues centre Jack Wighton took to social media to announce his engagement to his fiancee on Tuesday, but fans couldn’t help but mock the Raiders star for a gaffe in the post.

Wighton proposed to Monisha Lew Fatt in front of their two daughters at Batemans Beach and posted the image on Instagram.

The Raiders five-eighth also told his followers the couple were expecting their third child.

But in an apparent typo, or autocorrect, the caption read: “Welcoming my new Finance & Baby number Three.”

Wighton, according to media outlets, changed the wording to read ‘fiancee’ but not before fans jumped on and had fun with the typo.

CelebSpellCheck, an account on Instagram, joked: “Congratulations on your loan approval.”

Another user joked: “I wonder if the baby will be named Cash?”

Despite the joke, teammates Bailey Simonsson, Jarrod Croker, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Joseph Tapine all congratulated him for the good news.

NSW teammates Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Cameron Murray and Ryan Papenhuyzen also congratulated Wighton and his family on the announcement.

Wighton’s fiancee’s heartfelt message

Yes, yes... A thousand times YES,” Lew Fatt wrote on Instagram following the surprise.

“My husband to be and having our baby No.3.”

The announcement tops of a great few months for Wighton after he was named the Dally M player of the year in 2020.
