Roosters captain James Tedesco has taken a swipe at NRL referees after Victor Radley was sin-binned and charged for a controversial head high collision in his team's win over the Dragons. The Dragons fell short of a remarkable comeback having lost 27-26 in an ANZAC Day thriller after a late Luke Keary drop-goal decided the contest.

However, the Roosters were left baffled after Radley was sent to the sin-bin for making contact with Michael Molo's head in the 64th minute. Radley charged up out of the line and appeared to clash heads with Molo, which left the Dragons player on the ground.

The referee called Radley over, which prompted the forward to point to his head to gesture a head clash. However, the Bunker reviewed the incident to see if Radley had also made contact with Molo's head with his shoulder.

"That was a head clash," commentator Greg Alexander said. And Tedesco wasn't impressed with the penalty.

"If that was anyone else, that'd be no penalty," Tedesco told referee Adam Gee. "I'm not going to go down that path with you," Gee replied.

And upon review, the Bunker deemed Radley had made head-high contact and the enforcer would spend 10 minutes in the bin. The forward was utterly shocked at the decision and made his feelings known after the match.

"I was losing my mind in the sheds. That was a head clash," Radey said in his post-match interview. "Im not sure who made the decision but it was a s**t decision."

The 10-minute penalty means Radley has now equalled Latrell Mitchell with the most sin-bins in NRL history with nine. On Wednesday, Radley was charged with a reckless challenge and was fined $3,000 with an early guilty plea.

In his post-match press conference, Tedesco blasted the sin-bin and said Radley is targeted when it comes to penalties. And his coach Trent Robinson agreed in an eye-opening moment.

"I think Victor gets treated differently, just because of the aggression he plays with," Roosters head coach Robinson said. "It doesn't mean that's the truth. That's my opinion and Ted's opinion.

"That doesn't mean it is real, we might be biased. We feel like if it's a 50-50 in a physical contact then Rads has been on the other end of it. That's an opinion, I don't know if there is fact about it."

Fans were equally baffled with the ruling from the Bunker and doubled down that Radley had copped the penalty because of his aggressive reputation. Many claimed it was a clear head clash that caused the damage.

After the game, Anthony Griffin rued his sides cruel loss, which saw them nearly complete the comeback from 26-12 down. "It's a cruel game at the moment for us," Griffin said.

"We're struggling to close games out when we get in the position to. We just have to stare that in the face and get better. When we do, we will win a lot of games."
