NRL 360 host Braith Anasta has revealed to fans that he and fiancee Rachael Lee are "going through a tough period".

On Wednesday the 40-year-old former player moved to address rumours that he and Lee had split after his fiancee had reportedly been spotted without her engagement ring in recent weeks.

Anasta posted a statement on his Instagram page, writing: "Like many couples we are going through a tough period."

He insisted the couple had not separated but were "trying to work through this for us and more importantly for our beautiful family and our amazing children".

"We have always been private and we ask for privacy during this time," he added.

Lee has reportedly unfollowed Anasta on Instagram and hasn't posted any photos with him for a number of weeks.

The couple have been together since 2016 and have four-year-old daughter Gigi together.

Braith also shares eight-year-old daughter Aleeia with ex-wife Jodi Gordon, while Lee has 11-year-old Addison from a previous relationship.

Anasta and Lee got engaged in 2019, however their plans to get married were disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Braith Anasta at centre of Cameron Munster negotiations

Anasta played 288 NRL games during a 14-year career from 2000 to 2014.

He played 110 games for the Bulldogs, 147 for the Sydney Roosters and 31 for the Wests Tigers before his career came to an end.

The five-eighth and lock also played 10 State of Origin games for NSW and four Test matches for Australia, as well as one Test for Greece.

Since his retirement as a player he has moved into the media and is the current host of NRL 360 on Fox Sports.

He is also a player manager and works with a number of big names in the NRL such as Cameron Munster and Lachlan Ilias.

Anasta has been heavily involved in Munster's current contract negotiations, with the Melbourne Storm star weighing up offers from rival clubs.

Munster is off contract at the end of next year and will technically become a free agent on November 1, when he will be cleared to take up deals from other clubs for 2024.

Anasta claimed last month that up to four rival clubs had already made contact about his client and unless things changed, Munster would remain off contract come November 1.

"Cameron is still negotiating with the Melbourne Storm at the moment. They have been unbelievable throughout the process," Anasta said on NRL 360.

"(Melbourne owner) Matt Tripp is doing everything in his power to keep Cameron at the club.

"But as it stands right now it looks most likely at this point that we will go to the market in November. But things could change between now and then."
