James Tamou was given the option of not fronting the media after being sent off for abusing referee Ben Cummins at the end of the Wests Tigers' humiliating defeat to the Roosters.

He could have taken the easy way out and sent Adam Doueihi to face the heat alongside coach Brett Kimmorley.

But that's not the veteran front-rower's go.

He stuffed up and owned up.

"Jimmy was the first one to put his hand up and say I want to come and do the press conference and make himself accountable," Kimmorley said.

"That's the stature of the man. It's a great person that can front you guys and put his hand up.

"He's done really well to be strong enough to do that."

Contrast Tamou's get-on-the-front-foot approach to that of Manly's anti-rainbow gang.

A month after seven players refused to wear a special pride jersey, we're still yet to hear a word from any one of the protestors.

Not a peep.

Meanwhile, the Sea Eagles' season has slipped from promising to horrendous on the back of four straight defeats dating back to the rainbow saga.

Saturday night's embarrassing 34-point loss to Cronulla was one of Manly's heaviest defeats at Brookvale, lacking the passion, commitment and physical dogfight normally a non-negotiable for this proud club.

There's a chance Manly won’t win another game this year, taking a six-game losing streak into the off-season.

And if the club thinks the end of the 2022 campaign means the end of the anti-rainbow controversy, it is badly mistaken.

Hiding the players away will shelve the drama for a while but the questions will remain and linger into 2023 until properly addressed.

It doesn't need all seven to speak but some answers from a sole spokesman would at least give us all some clarity about a number of issues.

Who knows? It might give a clearer picture for those still struggling to comprehend the decision the seven took.

10 questions being asked of the Manly anti-rainbow players

These are the 10 questions fans are demanding an answer to:

1. Do you still stand by your decision not to play in the rainbow jersey match against the Roosters?

2. The club has lost four straight games to disappear from the finals race since that decision, do you feel responsible in any way?

3. What is your relationship like with the players who did play in the Roosters game?

4. How is your relationship with coach Des Hasler?

5. How do you explain the decision not to support the pride jersey but happily promote alcohol and gambling through the club's sponsors?

6. How do you explain the decision not to support the pride jersey yet show support for a teammate convicted of stabbing an innocent church leader?

7. Is there a gang culture at the club?

8. If the club opts to play in a rainbow jersey again next year, what will your stance be?

9. Have any of you asked for a release in the wake of the drama?

10. Do you feel for the coach and your teammates forced to repeatedly answer questions about the impact the anti-rainbow stance has had on your season?

We'll await your response.
