'Not mucking around': NRL star dropped for misreading training schedule
Panthers centre Waka Blake has been sensationally dropped for misreading the training schedule ahead of the Magic round in Brisbane.
Coach Ivan Cleary made the decision to drop Blake from the squad to face the Tigers at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night after he was “late for training”.
“Waqa Blake has been omitted after misreading the schedule and being late for training, while Hame Sele has been withdrawn with a minor back complaint,” a press release read.
This is a blow for Penrith who has just two wins this season and lost Isaah Yeo and Malaki Watene-Zelezniak to injury and face a late decision with Viliame Kikau.
Many on social media were perplexed with the decision to drop Blake.
Waqa Blake is OUT for @PenrithPanthers v @WestsTigers after misreading the schedule and subsequently late to training. 🤦♂️No, no, no, no.

Geez, Ivan not mucking around dropping Waqa Blake when they’re already struggling. He turned up late for training and won’t play Tigers. https://t.co/g3AfcJr2g4
