No. 20 Maryland's Diamond Miller hits buzzer-beater to upset No. 7 Notre Dame
In the final seconds of a ranked ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup, Maryland's Diamond Miller shined.
The All-Big Ten guard hit a buzzer-beating, pull-up jump shot to stun No. 7 Notre Dame on Thursday, giving the Terrapins a 74-72 win and handing the Irish their first loss of the season.
Notre Dame guarded Maryland well on the last possession, but Miller managed to find a soft spot in the defense thanks to a killer crossover and a pick from senior teammate Faith Masonius. As she was mobbed by teammates, she hit the South Bend crowd with a shushing gesture.

The game had been close throughout, but became an absolute battle down the stretch. Neither team held a lead greater than four points in the second half.
That shot was only the final chapter of a huge game for Miller, who finished with 31 points on 11-of-21 shooting, 12 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals. Only one other Terrapin, Shyanne Sellers, even scored in double digits.
That's the kind of performance that can draw the attention of Maryland fan Kevin Durant, who compared the shot to a Dirk Nowitzki fadeaway.

The win gives Maryland its second over a ranked team this season, having beaten No. 21 Baylor 73-68 on the road last week.
