Nick Kyrgios explodes at spectator in foul-mouthed rant

Nick Kyrgios has made headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again.

The young Aussie was involved in a nasty slanging match with a spectator on Thursday during his loss at the Delray Beach Open in Florida.

Kyrgios was in action against Radu Albot when his perceived lack of effort drew the ire of fans.

He was loudly booed as he called for the trainer early in the first set, before he exploded at a spectator towards the end of it.

Tennis journalist John Horn reported that a fan questioned Kyrgios’ effort, who snapped back and swore at the spectator.

“No one told you to be here…why don’t you do something else,” Kyrgios reportedly said, with an expletive mixed in.

The Aussie was hit with a code violation for the audible obscenity.

Kyrgios was then seen berating the spectator as he left the stands early in the third set, yelling at the man and sarcastically clapping him.

The Aussie was also slammed for a number of bizarre tactics throughout the match, most notably when he attempted a serve with the wrong side of his racquet while serving for the second set.

One TV commentator was left fuming.

“If you’re not going to respect the game, at least respect the opponent,” he said.

He managed to win the second, but went down 2-6, 6-3, 3-6.

Kyrgios has had trouble with American crowds in the past, and Thursday continued that ugly trend.
