The play was initially called a touchdown, however replays appeared to show Clement slightly bobble the ball as he was heading to the ground.

The play was reviewed and the call upheld, leaving commentator Cris Collinsworth stunned.

"I give up," he said. "If that ball's not loose in his arms when his last foot came down, I give up."

Clement did get both feet inbounds before he went out, however if he did indeed bobble the ball he would need to regather and get both feet down again, which he didn't appear to do.

The controversial call divided opinion among fans, with a large majority happy with the call.

A lot of fans seemed to be confused by the seemingly inconsistent adjudication of the rule, after a number of similar catches were disallowed earlier in the season.

Led by a stunning display from Foles, the Eagles outgunned the Patriots in an incredibly high-scoring game, winning 41-33.

Eagles kicker Jake Elliott gave his side a two-score margin with just over a minute left to play after nailing a 46 yard field goal.

However the winning touchdown was again marred by controversy, with commentators of the belief that Zach Ertz also didn't have control of the ball as he crossed the goal line.
