NFL rumors: Wide receiver market heating up following Cooper, Adams trades

The NFL's trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. ET. Already we've seen two high-profile wide receivers shipped off, but there is still plenty of time for other big-name players to find themselves on different squads. It's not just receivers either, defensive studs like Las Vegas' Maxx Crosby have seen their names thrown around as well, and while some of them have adamantly denied trade rumors, others could be very close to wearing new colors.

Here are the latest NFL trade rumors.

Raiders seem uninterested in entertaining trade offers for Maxx Crosby

With Crosby's teammate Davante Adams headed to New Jersey, there was speculation that the Las Vegas Raiders would be more inclined to trade away other pieces, most notably, star pass rusher Maxx Crosby. However, Raiders' owner Mark Davis has put a stop to all that talk. The Athletic reports that Davis has been disheartened by all the "outside chatter" he's been hearing regarding Crosby. "It's just not happening," says Davis.

ESPN's Adam Schefter's report backs this up even further. Earlier this week, Schefter claimed that a trade involving multiple first-round picks still wouldn't be enough to budge the Raiders on their star defensive talent. Couple that with Crosby's insistence on remaining in Vegas despite their current 2-4 record, and it seems increasingly unlikely that Crosby's name winds up on a different jersey.

DeAndre Hopkins on the move?

Amid all the receiver moves, five-time Pro Bowler DeAndre Hopkins is another name that has been thrown around a bit. However, his market seems rather undefined at the moment. Bleacher Report's James Palmer believes that Hopkins should be the next name on the move, but Hopkins has expressed his contentment with playing in Tennessee before. Furthermore, the Titans do not seem interested in blowing their roster up yet, despite their lack of success early on.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who lost both Rashee Rice and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown earlier this year, would be an ideal trade target, and have even expressed interest in Hopkins before, pursuing a trade with the Arizona Cardinals for him before he signed with Tennessee in free agency.

The Chiefs are not being "aggressive"

Despite the Chiefs need at receiver, they do not seem inclined to spend capital on anyone thus far. There are a multitude of options including Hopkins and other stars like New York's Mike Williams, Jacksonville's Christian Kirk, and even Carolina's Diontae Johnson. However, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Chiefs have not been "overly aggressive" in their search for a star wideout.

The Chiefs could instead opt to bring back some of their former wide receivers like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who became a free agent after being released by the Bills following the Amari Cooper trade. However, as it stands, Mahomes' receivers will likely remain the same for the rest of the season.

Mike Williams trade not happening soon

After the New York Jets acquired Davante Adams, former Los Angeles Charger Mike Williams was pushed down even further on the Jets' depth chart to No. 4. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler believes that no deal will be done this week, but next week could see Williams shipped off. He claims that both the Jets and Williams are open to a trade.

"[Both parties] appear comfortable moving on," says Fowler. "I'm hearing he is open to a trade and the team knows that."

Williams missed Jets' practice today due to "personal issues."

Following the Jets' loss the Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 6, quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemingly threw Williams under the bus for the game-sealing interception.

It is not confirmed that Rodgers was speaking about Williams in the video above, but it is highly likely given the circumstances. It is unclear if Rodgers' statements had anything to do with Williams' absence at practice, or his request for a trade.

Cowboys not expected to be active at deadline

Following an embarrassing loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions, Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones seems confident in the group he has now. During an interview on 105.3 The Fan, Jones said that he believes the team currently has "great personnel" and that he will not likely take any aggressive action at the deadline.

Dallas has heavy needs at running back and defensive end – especially with Micah Parsons' injuries. However, despite these glaring issues, Dallas still sits at .500 heading into Week 7. Although other teams in their division like the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles have taken steps forward to prevent the Cowboys from repeating as NFC East champs, Jones still believes his team has the talent to take them down.
