NFL inactives Week 18: Jalen Hurts, many more Eagles out vs. Giants, Taron Johnson will miss chance to earn $250K

Even if healthy, Jalen Hurts was likely not going to play in the Philadelphia Eagles' regular-season finale on Sunday against the New York Giants. Head coach Nick Sirianni indicted this week he would be resting a number of players, including running back Saquon Barkley, as the team is locked into the NFC's No. 2 seed.

Sirianni wasn't kidding when he said he'd be resting a lot of players. Hurts was already ruled out for Week 18 after sustaining a concussion in Week 16 (he's still progressing through concussion protocol), but the list of inactives the Eagles released on Sunday could also be mistaken for a list of the best and most important players on the entire team. Linebacker Zack Baun. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter. Wide receivers Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown. Tackles Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. Eagles fans should get ready to see a lot of players they may not be familiar with when the game kicks off.

Bills CB Taron Johnson will miss chance to earn $250K incentive

Week 18 is the last opportunity for players to earn regular season contract incentives, but cornerback Taron Johnson of the Buffalo Bills won't get the chance.

Johnson is inactive on Sunday. If he'd been active, he would have been able to try to reel in an interception. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, if he had snagged an interception, it would have been his third on the season, which would have come with a sweet $250,000 bonus.
