Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar Dominate Grammy Nominations

Alicia Keys sat down with CBS This Morning to announce the major category nominees for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. Keys helped the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences reveal their nominations for Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year. As many predicted, the artist who got the most love was pop star Taylor Swift, who received nods for every major award she was eligible for.

But Kendrick Lamar’s 11 total nominations give him the most for the Grammy’s this year, and he received recognition in the Song of the Year and Album of the Year categories.

Among this year’s surprises were the inclusion of Alabama Shakes for Album of the Year and the exclusion of Justin Bieber from any of the major categories. Although Bieber’s album was ineligible for recognition, his singles were eligible, but none were considered for Record of the Year or Song of the Year. In all, he eked out just one nomination, in the Best Dance Recording category.
