How breast-flashing trio's baseball stunt nearly never happened

The boob-flashing World Series stunt that saw three Instagram models capture the sporting world's attention almost never came to pass.

Major League Baseball banned the three women from games indefinitely after they flashed Houston Astros pitcher Gerrit Cole during Game 5 of the World Series.

Julia Rose, Lauren Summer and Kayla Lauren performed the act during the seventh inning of the contest. It was captured on camera.

MLB was quick to review the footage because Summer received a letter from the league on Sunday night. USA Today was able to confirm MLB sent the letter.

The trio were were banned for “violating the fan code,” according to the note.

“On October 27, 2019, you attended World Series Game 5 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C,” the letter read.

“During the game, you violated the fan code of conduct by exposing yourself during the 7th inning, in order to promote a business. You were also part of a scheme in which you induced others to expose themselves to promote the business.

“You are hereby banned from all Major League Baseball stadiums and facilities, indefinitely.”

However, the whole saga very nearly never happened after a trio of close calls the girls revealed in a video uploaded to the Shagmag Youtube channel.

A clip shows one of the girls completing a "pretty big" online transaction, which just happened to be tickets to Game Five of the World Series at Nationals Park.

The only problem was, Washington were 2-0 up in the series against the Houston Astros at the time, with the very real possibility that Game Five wouldn't eventuate (in the best-of-seven series).

As fate had it, the Astros did force a fifth game but the girls would still have to contend with a couple more snags.

A booking error on their flight saw the trio arrive in Baltimore on the day of the game (instead of Washington), meaning almost an hour extra driving time to get to the stadium.

That's when perhaps their hairiest moment came, with officials inside the stadium pulling the girls aside after they'd taken their seats.

Security threaten to derail stunt

“So representatives just pulled us out of our f***ing seats and said they know who we are, they don’t know what’s going on but we have to wear our jackets closed,” Rose explains on the video.

As history shows, the reprimand failed to have the desired effect as the women defied the authorities to pull off their risqué stunt.

They were promptly ushered away by security and reportedly detained for hours as authorities explained their punishment.

Despite the subsequent bans, the girls say ti won't be the last the world sees of the threesome, with plans to “100 per cent” target more sporting events.

“We definitely have some more stuff up our sleeves,” Rose told The New York Post.

The women claim they flashed Cole “for breast cancer.” They also did it in order to promote their business, a digital magazine called Shagmag.

Summer says the proceeds from Shagmag will go toward helping women with breast cancer pay off their medical bills.

“To clarify, yes we knew we would get banned, yes the letters are real, and yes, I would do it again lol,” Summer wrote on Twitter.

“More importantly, subscribe to @SHAGMAG_ because the proceeds go directly to women with breast cancer to pay for their medical bills.”
