Absolute carnage as crazy crash ruins Moto3 race

Over half the field went down in one crazy sequence of events as a huge crash resulted in the Le Mans Moto3 race being restarted.

On just the second lap of the race on Sunday, a multitude of riders hit what looked to be an oil slick and slid straight off the track.

Only eight of 31 riders who started the race were still upright after the ridiculous incident.

"Absolute carnage!" one commentator said. "I have never seen anything like this."

Another crash on the opening lap was pinpointed as the reason for the oil on the track.

The race was red-flagged and everyone headed straight back to the pits.

Once the race was re-started Juan Mir took out the win.
