Triathlon winner caught cheating by trackside cameras
An ironwoman in Canada has been sensationally caught cheating after she skipped a section of the running leg before winning the event.
Julie Miller was disqualified from the Ironman Canada race after officials said her time for the women's 40-44 age section was impossible.
Suspicions were raised that she'd cut the course, possibly by failing to complete one of the laps in the two-lap marathon.
"I did not cheat in the Whistler Ironman competition," she told the New York Times.
"Nor would I ever cheat or have I ever cheated in any competition."
However evidence has emerged from a trackside camera indicating she indeed failed to complete one of the running leg laps.
A camera was positioned 6.1km into the two-lap course, which athletes were required to pass twice. As you can see in the video above, Miller passed it only once - 9 minutes 15 seconds before rival Sharon Davis passed it on her second lap.
The footage appears to show Miller skipping the first lap before re-entering well ahead of Davis.
